My mom, who is no longer with us, spent years and lots of love putting beautiful touches around the home she loved. You could still feel the spirit of her in all her little loving touches, and her possessions she once treasured. When the home was sold, I watched everything she had done to make her house a home for us ripped apart unceremoniously, carted off in trucks, thrown into the dumpster, and there wasn't much I could do about any of it. It still breaks my heart.
